WHD-MENA is the Middle East and North Africa division of World Humanitarian Drive (WHD), an International NGO with operations in 12 countries, founded in Croydon, U.K. by British Indian Global Peace activist, Entrepreneur, Writer, Dr Abdul Basit Syed.
The primary vision of WHD is to promote Peace, Education and Trade Harmony initiatives globally. WHD-MENA carries this mission across the MENA region.
WHD programs, events, and initiatives are focused especially on the upliftment of women, youth, the most vulnerable, and minority populations. In the MENA region, we work alongside local partners to advance these goals.
WHD has made considerable strides by collaborating with world leaders, governments, and organisations to promote Peace, Education, and Trade Harmony through global initiatives and humanitarian activities.
Our partnership organisation "Universal Peace Federation (UPF)" holds a General Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). It is the highest status granted to a non-governmental organisation (NGO), which allows them to work with the United Nations.
WHD-MENA advocates for human rights, women’s empowerment, and childhood protection across the Middle East and North Africa. We work with local and international partners to advance policy, awareness, and concrete action in line with global humanitarian values and regional priorities.
We produce and share analysis on topics central to our mission: women’s participation in society and the economy, child welfare, and humanitarian trends in the MENA region. Our briefs and reports aim to inform decision-makers and the public.
